Preparing for OASIS-E
When: Wednesday, May 11, 11:30a
Presented by: Karen Tibbs
CMS has finalized the roll-out of OASIS-E for January 1, 2023. We will see an epic transformation that encompasses 44 items and 159 data element changes. This new version represents adjustments required to report standardized assessment data across post-acute care providers. It is critical for home health agencies to complete the OASIS accurately to ensure that sound data can be used for changes in future payment design and policy. Learn the details of the updated items, best practice education, approaches for efficiency, and strategies that allow OASIS-E to guide the clinician for improved care planning and resource utilization.
Medicare Advantage in a Value-Based World
When: Thursday, May 12, 11:15a
Presented by: Michael Puskarich
As Medicare Advantage (MA) and managed care continue to become a larger portion of home health agency revenue, along with the expansion of Value-Based Purchasing (VBP) in 2023, leaders must prepare for a world when MA contracts and networks will include VBP concepts. This session will outline what this future could look like, strategies for your agency to start to use now, how to align and partner with MA and managed care payers, as well as the use of innovation, referral relationships, quality, managing to specific metrics and how everyone in the organization must be involved…helping you deliver what these payers need in the advancing health care landscape. You’ll gain perspectives on juggling the transition from PDGM and Fee for Service (FFS) payers to VBP while fortifying yourself as the partner MA and managed care plans are looking for, but one that can survive these changes with a robust financial outcome and a renewed sense of adapting to the changes coming below the horizon.
